Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Luke 9:23-26 (KJV)
9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and [in his] Father’s, and of the holy angels.

Matthew 24:3-14 (KJV)
24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
24:8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.
24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Holy Ghost as God.

These scriptures clearly identify the Holy Ghost as God, working in perfect unity with the Father and the Son for our salvation.

1. The Holy Spirit Identified as God.
The Bible provides a direct identification of the Holy Spirit with the person of God. To lie to the Holy Spirit or to resist His work is to act directly against the Almighty.

Lying to God: When Ananias attempted to deceive the apostles, Peter explicitly identified the Holy Spirit as God: "Why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost?... thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God" Acts 5:3-4.

The Temple of God: Our bodies are called the temple of God because the Holy Spirit dwells within us: "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" 1Corinthians 3:16.

The Lord is that Spirit: The Scripture affirms the divine identity and authority of the Spirit: "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" 2Corinthians 3:17.

2. The Eternal and Infinite Nature of the Spirit.
The Holy Ghost possesses attributes that belong only to God, such as eternity, omnipresence, and infinite knowledge.

The Eternal Spirit: The Spirit is not a created influence but exists from eternity: "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God..." Hebrews 9:14.

Infinite Knowledge: Only God can know the depths of the divine mind, and the Spirit possesses this knowledge: "For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God... the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God" 1Corinthians 2:10-11.

Omnipresence: There is no place in the universe where the Spirit of God is not present: "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?" Psalm 139:7.

3. The Spirit’s Role in Creation and Life.
The Holy Spirit exercised the same creative power as the Father and the Son at the beginning of the world.

The Spirit at Creation: "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters" Genesis 1:2.

The Author of Life: "The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life" Job 33:4.

Garnishing the Heavens: "By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent" Job 26:13.

4. Part of the Threefold Name.
The divinity of the Holy Spirit is confirmed by His inclusion in the "threefold name" of the Godhead, in which every believer is baptized.

The Baptismal Commission: Jesus commanded that believers be baptized into the authority of the three great powers of heaven: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" Matthew 28:19.

The Apostolic Benediction: The Spirit is placed on an equal level with the Father and the Son in the distribution of divine grace: "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen" 2Corinthians 13:14.

The Witness in Heaven: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one" 1John 5:7.

5. The Spirit as the Divine Guide and Sanctifier.
The Holy Ghost performs the work that only God can do: convicting of sin, regenerating the heart, and leading the soul into all truth.

The New Birth: Except a man be born of the Spirit, which is a divine act of God, he cannot enter the kingdom: "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" John 3:5.

Leading into All Truth: As a divine Person, He interprets the mind of God to us: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth" John 16:13.

The Seal of God: We are sealed by His divine presence for the day of redemption: "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption" Ephesians 4:30.
